Ranked by DCF Evidence Score (0–100), which counts verifiable public evidence and does not measure delivery quality. How we score. Source: the Databricks partner directory (Consulting & SI partners), checked October 23, 2026. The directory feed shows a Platinum flag for a few partners and no other tiers.
Who are Databricks' top partners?
Databricks does not publish a ranking of its consulting partners. Its public directory lists them without tiers, its program page describes four tiers, and it names award winners each year. For a shortlist, start with the table above, then confirm tier and specializations in writing with the firm and with Databricks.
Three public signals exist, and each has limits.
| Signal | What it shows | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Partner directory | 1,495 Consulting & SI listings on October 23, 2026, out of 1,889 partners of all types. Filters for Partner Type (C&SI for consulting and system integrators, cloud, ISV for software vendors) and ten Specializations: AI, Data Warehouse Migrations, Lakeflow, Security & Governance and six industry groups | No tier and no ranking. Listing text is marketing copy, and some of it uses tier words or other labels in the partner's own voice |
| Partner Solutions and Accelerators | Packaged solutions and accelerators that partners built, filterable by industry, partner and region | Shows what a partner packaged, not how it performed for a customer |
| Global Partner Awards | Winners in Consulting & SI categories; the 2025 awards covered 56 categories across ISV, consulting and SI partners | Vendor recognition. Categories reflect Databricks' priorities, not an independent assessment |
The ten specialization labels appear to match the Specialization Program Databricks announced in February 2026, which covers six industries and four products. Confirm what a tag means with the partner.
Databricks describes Platinum as an invite-only tier for strategic global partners, so a firm's claim to it is worth asking about in writing. Our own table shows the Consulting & SI listings and public evidence, not Databricks tiers.
Does Databricks have a partner program?
Yes. Databricks says it launched the Brickbuilder Partner Network in February 2026 as one global program for consulting and SI partners, technology partners, data providers and built-on partners, with four tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Tiers move on a partner value score covering growth, customer success and innovation.
Databricks describes the tiers on its partner program page as follows.
| Tier | How Databricks describes it |
|---|---|
| Bronze | The entry point for new partners with signed agreements: portal access, training, demo credits and branding assets |
| Silver | The first earned tier, for partners with baseline performance, revenue, certified staff and eligibility for core financial incentives |
| Gold | Partners with proven practices, certified professionals, customer stories, substantial revenue influence, at least one specialization, published solutions and assigned partner managers |
| Platinum | An invite-only top tier for strategic global partners with significant mutual investment, multiple specializations and dedicated resources |
The page lists four program tracks: consulting and system integrator, connected, data and built-on. Databricks' February 2026 announcement adds a Velocity incentive model, a Specialization Program covering six industries and four products (including generative AI and Lakeflow), and Delivery Expert badges for individual practitioners.
Tiers measure a partner's business with Databricks, not delivery on your project. Databricks also describes incentives for partners that include rewards for sourcing new use cases and recurring consumption rebates as customers grow, so ask any partner whether it receives incentives on your account and how that affects its sizing advice.
Is PwC a Databricks partner?
PwC did not appear in Databricks' public partner directory on October 23, 2026, and neither did McKinsey (QuantumBlack) or BCG (BCG X). Absence from the directory does not prove a firm has no Databricks relationship, so ask the firm and Databricks. EY, Deloitte, KPMG and Accenture did appear.
| Firm | Directory result, October 23, 2026 | Regions tagged |
|---|---|---|
| Accenture | Listed as a Consulting & SI partner, with a separate listing for Accenture Federal Services | Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa, North America |
| Deloitte | Listed as a Consulting & SI partner | North America |
| EY | Listed as a Consulting & SI partner | Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa, North America |
| IBM | Listed as a Consulting & SI partner under the name IBM | Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa, North America |
| KPMG | Listed as a Consulting & SI partner | North America |
| PwC | Not found under PwC or PricewaterhouseCoopers | Not applicable |
| McKinsey (QuantumBlack) | Not found under McKinsey or QuantumBlack | Not applicable |
| BCG (BCG X) | Not found under BCG or Boston Consulting Group | Not applicable |
We searched listing names and descriptions in the directory's data on October 23, 2026. The directory is a subset of the ecosystem: Databricks said in February 2026 that it has more than 7,000 partners, while the directory page showed 1,889 partners of all types. A firm can also have a relationship that the directory does not show, or work with Databricks through a cloud provider. To check a firm, ask it for a written description of its Databricks relationship, check its own alliance pages, and ask your Databricks account team.
How does Databricks' own services team differ from a partner?
Databricks sells services through its own engineering organization, which it launched as Forward Deployed Engineering on June 11, 2026 by bringing Professional Services under one roof. Its engineers are Databricks employees working on its platform; partners are independent firms that can also work on other platforms. You can use either or both.
| Databricks' own team (profile) | A consulting partner | |
|---|---|---|
| Who employs the engineers | Databricks | The partner firm |
| Scope | Databricks only. Its services page lists Jumpstart, Migration Assurance, Lakehouse Build-out, a knowledge-base Q&A workflow using large language models, a Center of Excellence and custom statements of work | Whatever the firm sells, including strategy, BI and other platforms |
| Price | The services page lists no prices. Databricks says it is moving toward outcome-aligned pricing, with milestone-based fixed-fee options where they fit | Set by each firm; the directory lists none |
| How to engage | Through your Databricks account team | Directly, or through a Databricks introduction |
| Independence | Employed by the vendor that sells the platform | An independent firm that may earn Databricks incentives (see above) |
| Delivery | Databricks says it co-delivers with partners as required | Partners may work alongside the Databricks team |
Neither option is neutral about Databricks. Ask the vendor's team what it would do differently from a partner and when it brings partners in, and ask a partner when it would call on Databricks' engineers.
How do you tell a Databricks specialist from a generalist partner?
Check specializations tagged in the directory, packaged solutions on Databricks' partner solutions page, named Databricks-certified people on your team, and references with a similar source system and size. A directory listing alone cannot separate a specialist from a generalist.
| Ask | A strong answer | Where to check |
|---|---|---|
| Which specializations and tier do you hold today? | Written confirmation naming the tier or specialization and the date | The directory's Specializations filter; tier definitions on the partner program page |
| Which of your solutions are on Databricks' partner solutions page? | One relevant to your migration source or industry, with its scope and limits | Partner Solutions and Accelerators |
| Who on my team holds Databricks certifications? | Named people, credential levels and hours by role | Databricks certification |
| How will you govern data and access? | A Unity Catalog design covering catalogs, permissions, lineage and audit | Unity Catalog documentation |
| How will you control compute cost? | Compute type chosen per workload, tagging and budgets, and a cost review after go-live | Databricks pricing; our TCO analysis |
| What will you migrate with, and what rate did it achieve on our code? | A named tool, such as Lakebridge or partner tooling, with a rate measured on a sample of your code | The tool's list of supported sources |
For the wider process of choosing a migration partner on any platform, see platform modernization. Databricks' migration page describes its own tools and partner accelerators.
What do Databricks consultants cost, and what return should you expect?
Labor is priced separately from the platform. Estimate: one engineer-month at federal ceiling-rate medians costs about $23,800 for a data engineer, $25,300 for a data architect and $29,900 for an ML/AI engineer, and a 12-week lakehouse build-out with five people about $335,000. Commercial rates are often higher.
| Role (GSA CALC+) | Median hourly rate | One 160-hour month | At 25th to 75th percentile rates |
|---|---|---|---|
| Data engineer (838 records) | $149 | $23,840 | $20,000 to $29,280 |
| Data architect (913 records) | $158 | $25,280 | $20,960 to $30,080 |
| Cloud architect (887 records) | $185 | $29,600 | $24,640 to $35,520 |
| Machine learning / AI engineer (230 records) | $187 | $29,920 | $23,520 to $38,880 |
Worked example (DCF Research estimate): a 12-week lakehouse build-out with 1 data architect and 3 data engineers full time and 1 ML/AI engineer half time. Hours × median rate: 480 × $158 + 1,440 × $149 + 240 × $187 = $75,840 + $214,560 + $44,880 = $335,280. At 25th to 75th percentile rates the same hours cost $278,160 to $412,080.
The rates are fully burdened ceiling prices on U.S. federal contracts, not commercial quotes, and commercial rates for the same roles are often higher. The hours are our assumptions: 40 hours a week for each full-time person. Neither Databricks nor its partners publish rates in the directory, so ask for hours by role. Platform consumption is billed separately: Databricks charges compute in Databricks Units (see its pricing page), and our data platform TCO analysis shows how to model it.
Return on investment is harder to state. Percentages quoted for Databricks projects usually depend on the buyer's own baseline, and many come from vendors, partners or commissioned studies. Ask for the baseline, the workload and who paid for any study, and build your own estimate using the TCO method.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a Consulting & SI partner and a technology partner?
In Databricks' directory, Consulting & SI partners deliver data and AI projects as consultancies or integrators, while ISV partners build software that integrates with or runs on Databricks. Cloud partners are the cloud providers. This page lists only the first group.
Should we hire a Databricks partner or a Snowflake partner?
Choose the platform first, based on workloads, team skills and cost, then the partner. Our guide to Snowflake versus Databricks consulting compares the two, and our Snowflake consultants page shows that vendor's directory with its tier tags.
How do I confirm a firm's Databricks tier or specialization?
Ask the firm for written confirmation that names the tier or specialization and the date, and ask your Databricks account team to confirm it. The public directory shows specializations but not tiers, and partner-written text may use labels that are not Databricks' current tier names.
Is there a Databricks Elite or Select partner tier?
Databricks' partner program page names Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum, not Elite or Select. Some partner-written text uses other labels, so ask which of the four tiers a firm holds today and for written confirmation.
